Yusuf Abdallah Usman was
Born on 24th June 1961.
He attended Shahuci and Batta Primary Schools, Kano, Rumfa College Kano, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Bayero University Kano , Nigeria Institute of Journalism, Lagos, Institute of Archeology and Museum Studies Jos and National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Jos.
He was the Director General and Chief Executive of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments from 2009 to 2017 after serving variously as Director and Curator of many museums across the country, during which period he oversaw the conservation of the 8000 year old Dufuna Canoe in Damaturu, the second oldest dugout boat in the world .
He was Nigeria’s representative on the UNESCO World Heritage Committee from 2006 to 2010.
Author of many papers on History, Art, Museology and Museography Usman, a trained journalist was at various times, reporter, State Editor, Features Editor and Member of the Editorial Board of The Triumph newspapers. He is married and has children
